When it comes to lip color, I’m all about the nudes – brown-y nudes, peachy-nudes and muted pinks – all very my-lips-but-better shades. I rarely venture into the realms of bright pinks or neon corals; when I do wear brights, it is usually in the form of a sheer lip gloss [my go to for summer is Bobbi Brown's Popsicle]. More recently, though, I’ve gotten into true-pink lipsticks, and really love how these more girly pinks can brighten up the entire face.
My absolute favorite girly pink at the moment is Marc Jacobs Lovemarc Lip Gel in Have We Met?, a shimmering pink that cushions lips with moisture and provides excellent color payoff with one swipe. The shimmer in this lipstick is very fine, so it isn’t obvious when worn; rather, it makes lips glisten as well as makes them appear a bit more full.
As for wear, Have We Met? stays put on my lips for about five hours, and as it wears off it leaves a lovely light pink stain behind. These lipsticks don’t have any noticeable fragrance, only a very faint, hint of sweetness. I also love the packaging of this product [and all of the products in the range] – I’ll describe it as whimsical chic.
